Google Ads

'Google Ads' are advertisements served on internet by Google also known as Adsense. I like Google Ads served on websites and blogs because it serves the visitors with useful links that is somehow connected to the content that they visit or relevant to their location.

We visit websites and blogs looking for information or for entertainment. We reach there either by searching with a key word on a search engine or by a direct link. But in some instances we find that it is not what we are looking for or the information on the site that we visited is not relevant or useful. However there is a possibility that the Google Ads (or any context sensitive ads for that matter) placed in the site provide us a useful link!

This is one reason that I provide Google Ads on my blogs. If it help the visitors of my blogs to find a source for the information that they are looking for but I failed to provide, I think it is a good service to them. Of course the Google will share a tiny portion of their income with me. If you are a blogger or maintain a general purpose website, I would suggest that you serve the Google Ads! The income generated may not be so much that will really enthuse you, but it is a service to your visitors even though it is an easy exist from your site!

However there is an issue with the Google Ads! There is a chance that it may serve advertisements to promote something which I may not want to promote! It may be completely against my principles and ethics. Google provides a solution to solve this issue to a certain extent. If I know the URL of those advertisements, I can block them from appearing on my site. The limitation is that advertisements shown differ from countries to countries. The advertisement displayed to a visitor in UAE will differ from the one shown to a visitor in India. So how can I know what advertisements are shown elsewhere? Now Google also provides category filtering like blocking advertisements that has 'reference to sex & sexuality' etc.

I appreciate if you bring to my attention if any undesirable links appear on my blogs.
