Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD) is the master of ceremony for the Toastmasters Club meetings. TMOD plans, and execute the meetings. A good meeting is collective efforts of all the role players. Members who take up different roles will be at different level with respect to their experience. So it would be good to explain the job of each role players in advance so that they can prepare well and do an excellent job!
Here is a quick note.
Grammarian
In the beginning, you
will be invited for the introduction of your role. Please explain your role as a
grammarian and present the word of the day. Prepare for a 2–3-minute introduction
speech and word of the day.
In the evaluation
session, you will be invited to present the grammarian report. For mistakes,
avoid mentioning the name. For good usage of language and words, mention the
name of the speaker. You have 5 minutes to present the report.
Ah Counter
In the beginning, you
will be invited for the introduction of your role. Please explain your role as an
Ah Counter. Prepare for a 1–2-minute introduction speech.
In the evaluation
session, you will be invited to present the Ah Counter report. You can mention
the name of the speaker while providing your report. You have 3 minutes to
present the report.
Timer
In the beginning, you
will be invited for the introduction of your role. Please explain your role as Timer.
Prepare for a 1–2-minute introduction speech.
Then at the beginning of
the prepared speech segment, you will be invited to explain the timing
mechanism for the prepared speeches.
Then at the beginning
of the Table Topic Session and Evaluation Segment, you will be invited by the
Table Topic Master and General Evaluator respectively to explain the timing
mechanism for the segment.
At the end of each
session, you will be invited to present the timer’s report.
Prepared Speakers
Bring the formal evaluation
sheet of your respective project and give it to your evaluator. If you need to
mention anything specific about your project to the audience, mention it to the
TMOD or your evaluator. They will mention it while introducing you/when reading
the speech objectives.
Evaluators
Collect the evaluation
sheet from the speaker before the beginning of the meeting and understand their
speech objectives to do the evaluation respective to the speech objectives.
Provide the written evaluation to your speaker on the evaluation sheet
provided.
Table Topic Master
At the beginning of
your session, provide a brief introduction of your role as Table Topic Master
and about the Table Topic Session – Prepare for a 1–2-minute introduction
speech.
Before concluding the
session, ask for Timer’s report and request the audience to vote for the best Table
Topic speaker. Then invite TMOD to take back control of the meeting.
General Evaluator
At the beginning of
your session, provide a brief introduction of your role as General Evaluator
and about the Evaluation Session – Prepare for a 1–2-minute introduction
speech.
Introduce the evaluation
speakers well while inviting them to speak.
After all speech evaluation is over, ask for Timer’s report and request the audience to vote for the best Table Topic speaker. Then invite the Grammarian and the Ah Counter for their report. Then invite TMOD to take back control of the meeting.
